how many more names are gonna be added to this list?
how many more times do we need to hear “i cant breathe” for you to listen?
how many times to we have to protest and rebel for you to listen?
how can i feel safe in my own home when being black is a death sentence?
I’ve worn this color everyday of my life and i will not and cannot be shamed for it.
im proud to be a black-Hispanic woman but not in america.
i dont feel welcome and you dont even try to fix it
the numerous confederate statues still standing puts me at risk, the numerous “bad apples” in the police department put me at risk, the man we call our “president” puts me at risk, being in America puts me at risk.
i’m done
we’re done
they’re done
we’re all done
no more killings, no more white supremacy
my life matters just as much as yours, i just wish you could get past your own privilege to see it.
since the dawn of america we have been belittled, enslaved, killed, raped, pillaged and just because we dont call it slavery anymore doesn’t mean it’s not still there.
”i can’t breathe”
”no justice, no peace”
”black lives matter”
we deserve to be heard
we deserve to be seen
we deserve to live
